Shockingly sub-par

Originally from Chicago I've had the opportunity to party at some of the best clubs in the country. This "club" is not even close. Lighting may be good, the rest has less to offer. The music is so loud my ears were ringing for hours after leaving. The go-go boys are skinny and have more attitude then a 14yo tween. High priced drinks and under poured. Asked for three different drinks and the bartender said they didn't have the liquor for any of them. Had to settle for a beer. Saw people getting free shots and drinks from the bartenders and they were obviously over served. The three nights I went. First time someone got stabbed in the club. Second-time some drag queens in a so-called vip area, got so trashed they were smoking in the building and one even fell and broke a table...WTF! So that was mark one and two against them. Came back this past weekend (third time is a charm right) and they had 10 DJ spinning. Are you kidding me. This place is not a club it is a mess. If you like messy people, bartenders that over serve, limited over priced alcohol & dodging vomit, drunks on the sidewalk after close. This is the place for you......I will NEVER return nor would I EVER recommend this "club" to anyone.

Take Your Flask!

Ordered shots throughout the night on several occasions from different bartenders including one of the owners. All were under poured and over priced. Half the time they didnt have what I ordered. I suggest you bring a flask or mini's!

Make no mistake, it's a DANCE CLUB

Before EFFEX opened, everyone told me it was huge and would have something for everyone. Make no mistake, it's a modern gay disco, period. The crowd is largely 20-somethings. The DJs play a very metropolitan mix, which is refreshing in Albuquerque. The drinks cost a buck or two more than you might like, but they're made well. The smoking area is a bit small considering the number of smokers, but there *is* a smoking area. Overall, it's a very well executed city disco that you would normally have to travel to another state to experience.

BEWARE OF THIS DUMP, YOU WILL GET BEAT UP BY STRAIGHT SECURITY.

BEWARE OFTHIS DUMP IT'S VERY CONTRADICTING. STRAIGHT PEOPLE OPERATE THIS PATHETIC PLACE. I BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES, EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN THERE I HAVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE, THE SERVICE THERE IS VERY TACKY AND UNPROFESSIONAL, YOU WAIT FOREVER TO GET A DRINK AND THEY CHARGE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR YOUR DRINKS IN A SMALL 12OZ CUP, THAT TO ME IS BEING VERY GREETY, AND I LIKE MY DRINKS IN A GLASS. BUT I NEVER GET A CLASSY GLASS ALWAYS IN A PLASTIC 120Z CUP, THIS DUMP IS WAY OVER PRICED. BAR TENDERS ARE VERY VERY RUDE, THEY ONLY SERVE PEOPLE THAT THEY KNOW REAL GOOD FIRST, AND OTHERS HAVE TO WAIT. TELL ME IS THIS WRONG OR WHAT, ALSO IT SMELLS SO BAD IN THIS DUMP, WHEN YOU GET A DRINK AT THE BAR IT SMELLS LIKE SEWER BACKING UP, IT IS VERY UNBEARABLE, IT SMELLS LIKE YOUR IN THE RESTROOM ORDERING YOUR DRINK. AND THE DANCE FLOOR IS SO STICKY WHEN YOU WALK OR DANCE IT FEELS LIKE YOUR GOING TO STICK TO THE FLOOR, HOW CAN ANYBODY RUN A DIRTY AND UNSAFE PLACE LIKE THIS. ALSO THE SECURITY GAURDS THERE ARE VERY RUDE AND PUSHY AND THEY WILL PUSH YOU OR HIT YOU IF YOU DONT LEAVE AT BAR CLOSE TIME, BELIEVE ME, ME AND FEW FRIEND WERE UP STAIRS USEING THE RESTROOM AT 1:45 AM SATURDAY, WHEN TWO SECURITY GUARDS APROCHED US AND TOLD US RUDELEY TIME TO LEAVE, THAT MEENS GET THE " F" OUT I TOLD THEM I WAS WAITING FOR MY FRIEND'S TO FINISH IN THE RESTROOM, THEN WE WILL LEAVE, THEY WERE RUDELEY YELLING AT THEM IN THE RESTROOM TIME TO GET THE " F" OUT SO THEY WERE DONE AND THE SECURITY PUSHED ME TIME TO FKING LEAVE, THEN HE PUSHED ME AND MY FRIENDS DOWN THE STAIRS FROM UPSTAIRS FLOOR, THEY COULD HAVE KILLED US, BUT I HAVE KNEWS FOR YOU WE ARE DOING GREAT, BUT MAYBE YOU WONT VERY SOON. WHEN PEOPLE HEAR & SEE THIS MESSAGE MAYBE THEY WILL BE SMART NOT TO GO TO A DUMP LIKE THIS. ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE GAY PEOPLE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE, KEEP GOING THERE IF YOU WANT TO GET BEAT UP. ALSO IF YOU THINK CARRIE IS SO HUMBLE THINK AGAIN, SHE IS ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY. IF ALL YOU GAY PEOPLE THINK THIS IS THE HOT PLACE TO BE, YOUR AS STUPID AS THEY ARE. MONEY CHANGES PEOPLE, CARRIE HAS CHANGED SHE'S ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY, KEEP GOING THERE, KEEP GETTING RIPPED OFF, KEEP GOING WHERE THE CROWD IS, MARK MY WORD PEOPLE SOMETHING TRAGIC IS GOING TO HAPPEN, THAT'S WHY THEY LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER, I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I ALMOST GOT KILLED THERE. PLEASE I BEG YOU ALL DONT GO TO THIS DUMP, YOU WILL BE SORRY.
