Over the past year, our communities have sadly experienced the aftermath of hatred, violence and tragedy. As we are well aware, there are diverse social, cultural, religious, spiritual and political perspectives that have contributed to divisiveness or disunity among individuals, families and broader communities. We are in a critical time. More than ever, communities of diverse backgrounds need to come together to cope and heal. This can only happen by opening our hearts with recognition, respect, and honor of our common humanness. Our shared survival is interwoven.
In collaboration with Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP), Generation Justice and RAICES (Community Education of Traditional Medicine), we would like to invite you to join us in addressing the stress, loss and trauma individuals, families, and communities have faced and are still facing. As part of this collaborative, this will be our weekly healing space where community members can pray, meditate, sit in silence, light a candle or engage in other practices of peace together. By coming together as an interfaith and multicultural community, we hope that Standing in Love and Light can promote the idea that peace is possible despite social, cultural, religious, spiritual and political differences. Our 3rd Shared Healing Space assembly is scheduled for Friday, July 21, 10:30am at Tiguex Park.
For more details, you may message any of the three organizations: Generation Justice, SouthWest Organizing Project, or RAICES: Community Education of Traditional Medicine.
We hope you to see you there!
